Active Harmonic Control
Harmonics increase business operating costs by increasing downtime, placing undue burden on the electrical infrastructure, making power factor correction difficult and causing poor power factor. AccuSine provides harmonic control by monitoring a distorted electrical signal, determining the frequency and the magnitude of the harmonics that exist in it, and then cancelling those harmonics with the dynamic injection of opposing current.
Total Power Factor Correction
Poor power factor increases the current loading on all wiring and components, thus leading to the higher capital and operating costs, shortended equipment lifetime and higher utility bills. Poor power factor implies high reactive current, which is not capable of performing useful work. Accusine utilizes analog and digital logic to sense and inject current, providing reactive power. If sized properly, Accusine can improve power factor to near unity.
Resonance Prevention
Resonance is a form of system instability. Resonance causes voltage or current to exceed design limits for system components to be overworked. Resonance problems are becoming much more frequent due to the massive installation of semiconductor products (nonlinear loads), such as variable frequency drives, UPS's, welders and battery chargers. Accusine elminates the potential for resonance by attenuating current harmonics.
Dynamic VAR Compensation
The high speed response capabilities (40µs) of the Accusine make it possible to track and compensate very dynamic loads, such as welders, providing nearly real-time reactive power compensation. AccuSine can be used to mitigate flicker problems due to this capability.
