Identify equipment that is susceptible to damage or disruption due to power interruptions or unstable voltage conditions, and apply appropriate protection including:
a. UPS
-- Off-line standby (workstations)
-- Line interactive (workstations or servers)
-- On-line (servers especially on generator backup systems)
b. Power Conditioner/Voltage Regulator
-- Ferro resonant transformer (CVT)
-- Tap changing voltage regulators
c. Shielded isolation transformers.
d. Determine VA load rating and battery runtime required.
e. Investigate central UPS with fault tolerant redundant design for critical
loads.
f. Consider communications for UPS to network for warnings and orderly
shutdown.
g. Determine requirements of generator backup for prolong operation. |
